How the Program Works

When a product is enrolled in SIPP, Amazon ships it to customers in the seller's own product packaging rather than adding an Amazon-branded box or mailer on top. This eliminates redundant packaging layers and creates a cleaner unboxing experience for buyers. However, if a SIPP-certified product is ordered alongside other items, Amazon may still place it in a shared box, bag, or envelope to consolidate the shipment. The discounted fulfillment fees still apply regardless of whether the item ships alone or alongside other products.

Enrollment and Costs

Enrolling in SIPP is free. However, sellers should be prepared for potential costs related to updating their product packaging to meet SIPP certification requirements. Products that are fragile, contain sharp items, or include liquids may require additional testing at an ISTA-6 certified lab, which carries its own fees. Sellers who already have SIOC-certified products will find those automatically enrolled in SIPP since the certification standards are identical. Amazon also proactively identifies compliant products through its fulfillment network using machine learning, so some products may already be enrolled without any seller action.
