How Inventory File Uploads Work

The process begins in Seller Central, where sellers navigate to the inventory section and select the option to add products via upload. From there, Amazon provides downloadable templates organized by product category. Each template contains a header row defining every field — some required, some optional — along with a data definitions tab that explains acceptable values for each column. Sellers populate the template with their product data, including UPC or EAN identifiers, titles, descriptions, pricing, quantity, and any category-specific attributes like material type, dimensions, or compatible devices. Once the file is complete, it is uploaded back through Seller Central, where Amazon's system validates the data and creates the listings.
