Within this workspace, the Drafts section serves as a holding area for listings that failed to meet Amazon's requirements during submission, giving sellers the opportunity to fix issues and resubmit at their convenience.

How Draft Listings Work

When you submit a product listing through Seller Central, Amazon checks it against current listing policies and data requirements. If any required attributes are missing or contain invalid values, the listing is not published. Instead, it moves into the Drafts section of the Catalog menu, where it waits for you to address the issues. Once you correct the problems and save your changes, Amazon automatically reprocesses the listing. This means you do not need to start from scratch when a listing submission fails — you simply fix what needs fixing and let the system handle the rest.

Three Ways to Edit Your Drafts

Amazon provides three distinct methods for correcting draft listings, each suited to different situations. The first is inline editing, where you click directly on highlighted attribute fields next to a listing, enter or correct the data, and save individual or multiple attributes at once. A question mark icon next to each field provides guidance on valid values. The second method uses the "Add a Product" tool — you click "Fix draft" next to any listing, which opens a detailed form highlighting required attributes in red. You can fill in the identified fields along with any optional attributes before resubmitting. The third approach is bulk editing, which allows you to select multiple listings using checkboxes and download a template file to make corrections across many drafts simultaneously.
