In June 2024 Amazon rolled out its FBA Small and Light program to three additional European storefronts—Netherlands (amazon.nl), Sweden (amazon.se) and Poland (amazon.pl). The move lets sellers of low‑priced, lightweight products list those items with a reduced fulfillment charge while still earning the Prime badge, opening a new avenue for margin improvement in fast‑growing markets.

Key Points

• Three new marketplaces added — The Small and Light service is now live on amazon.nl, amazon.se and amazon.pl, joining the existing coverage in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain.
• Up to 30 % lower fees — Eligible SKUs are billed a fulfillment rate that can be roughly a third cheaper than regular FBA; for example, a 150 g gadget priced at €9.99 may incur a €0.70 fee instead of €1.00.
• Prime badge stays intact — Items enrolled in Small and Light continue to display the Prime logo, preserving the typical two‑ to three‑fold conversion boost seen on Prime‑eligible listings.
• Full FBA logistics retained — Amazon still manages picking, packing, shipping, returns and customer service for every qualified product, so sellers do not need to adjust their service expectations.
• Country‑specific limits — Weight and price caps differ per market; the Netherlands allows up to 500 g and €15, Sweden up to 500 g and €15, while Poland limits weight to 400 g and price to €12.

What's Changing

1. Activate the program per marketplace — Sellers sign into the Seller Central portal for each new site, open the Small and Light dashboard, and switch the feature on for that country. A UK‑based vendor of silicone kitchen tools would repeat the activation steps separately on amazon.nl, amazon.se and amazon.pl.
2. Validate eligibility against local thresholds — The system automatically compares each ASIN’s weight and price to the rules of the selected marketplace. A 200 g phone case listed at €11 passes in Sweden (price ceiling €15) but would be rejected in Poland where the ceiling is €12 if the seller tried to list it at €13.
3. — Once an SKU clears the eligibility check, Amazon charges the lower Small and Light rate for every unit shipped from the corresponding European fulfillment center. Shipping 1,000 units of a €7.99 toy to the Polish hub would lower the fee from €1.20 to €0.84 per unit, delivering a monthly saving of €360.
