When you create an inbound shipment to Amazon’s fulfillment network, you must submit a pack list that details the contents of each box. Amazon’s pack‑list generator imposes strict SKU caps that differ by the template you select. Knowing these caps helps you avoid missing items, extra fees, and delayed inventory.

How Pack List Generation Works

1. Initiate pack‑list creation — You click “Generate Pack List” on the shipment workbench; the system reads the total SKU count in your shipment plan.
2. Template selection logic —
   • If SKU count ≤ 150: the system offers the standard Excel template.
   • If 151 ≤ SKU count ≤ 1,000: the standard option disappears and the .tsv template is presented automatically.
   • If SKU count > 1,000: the .tsv template is still offered, but it will contain only the first 1,000 SKUs.
3. Download and edit — After the file downloads, you verify the row count. If the file shows fewer rows than your shipment plan, you manually add the missing SKU entries (including box number, quantity, and any required identifiers) before uploading the revised file back to Seller Central.
