How Enrollment Works

Sellers who are invited to the StockSmart pilot will receive an email containing a link to a survey. Within that survey, Amazon provides a curated list of ASINs recommended for enrollment. Sellers can review this list and choose which products they want to include in the program. There is no obligation to enroll all recommended ASINs — sellers have full discretion over which products participate. The process is straightforward and does not require changes to existing shipping or inventory management workflows.

Inventory Distribution and Regional Placement

The StockSmart pilot does not alter Amazon's inbound placement process. Sellers continue sending inventory to fulfillment centers as they normally would, and Amazon distributes items across its nine geographical regions based on factors like anticipated customer demand. This distribution happens regardless of which inbound placement option a seller selects. The nine-region framework is specific to this pilot and is used to evaluate stock levels and demand patterns on a more granular geographic basis than the national-level metrics sellers are accustomed to.
