MCP Integration

Connect Amalert to Claude.ai

Use Amalert as a Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration in Claude.ai. Search articles, browse videos, query the database, and more — all from a Claude conversation.

Prerequisites

A Claude.ai Pro or Max account (MCP integrations require a paid Claude plan)
An Amalert Pro subscription ($19/mo) — view plans

Cloudflare Configuration

If your domain uses Cloudflare, make sure the "Block AI Bots" setting is set to "Do not block". Cloudflare's bot protection will block MCP requests from Claude.ai if this is enabled.

Find this under Security → Bot Protection → Block AI Bots in the Cloudflare dashboard.

Connect to Claude.ai

Go to Claude.ai → Settings → Integrations
Click "Add custom connector"
Enter the MCP server URL:
https://amalert.co.uk/api/mcp
Click Connect → sign in with Google or your email and password
Authorize access — Claude will immediately have access to your Amalert tools

Available Tools

search_articles	Full-text search across published news articles
get_article	Get full details of a specific article by slug
search_videos	Search curated Amazon seller education videos
get_video_transcript	Get a video transcript by YouTube ID
list_channels	List all YouTube channels with subscriber counts
get_channel_videos	Get all videos from a specific channel
list_categories	List video categories with counts
query_database	Run read-only SQL queries against content tables (articles, videos, channels, categories, sources)
get_dashboard_stats	Aggregate content statistics and recent activity

query_database is restricted to content tables — user and admin data is not accessible.

Try asking Claude any of these once Amalert is connected:

“What are the latest FBA fee changes?”

“Show me the top 10 channels by subscriber count”

“How many articles were published in the last 30 days?”

“Find videos about PPC advertising from the last month”

“SELECT title, category FROM amalert.items WHERE importance = 'critical' ORDER BY reviewed_at DESC LIMIT 5”

Troubleshooting

Connection blocked by Cloudflare

Disable "Block AI Bots" in your Cloudflare dashboard (see step 2 above). MCP requests come from Anthropic's servers and will be blocked by default bot protection.

"Subscription required" error

MCP access requires an Amalert Pro ($19/mo) subscription. Upgrade your plan and try connecting again.

Google sign-in fails or wrong account

Make sure you're signing in with the same Google account linked to your Amalert account. If you have multiple Google accounts, try using an incognito window.

Token expired / "Unauthorized" error

Disconnect the integration in Claude.ai settings and reconnect. OAuth tokens expire periodically and need to be refreshed by re-authorizing.

Tools not appearing in conversation

After connecting, start a new conversation. MCP tools are loaded when a conversation begins and may not appear in existing ones.
